1.     Seniors!  Are you interested in a career as a Plumber or Pipefitter or Heating, Ventilation or AC?  Local 350 is accepting applications for apprenticeships.  Stop by the College and Career Center to get more info!  (Taveira 9/25-10/20)

2.     Are you looking for a job???  There will be a Retail Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 9:00-1:00 pm at Reno Town Mall.  All major retailer are represented!!!  See Mrs. Taveira in the Career Center.  (Taveira 10/12-10/20)

3.     Circus Circus is looking to hire new employees!  Jobs range from Bus person to Midway Operator with pay ranging from $7.25-$10.35.  Stop by the Career Center for more info.  (Taveira 10/12-10/23)

4.     Any students that are interested in trying out for the SSHS Rifle Team there will be an information meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21st in room 131.  (Mendenhall 10/12-10/21)

5.     If you are interested in trying out for a winter sport, you need to be cleared by completing an Athletic Clearance Packet.  If you cleared for a fall sport and you want to go out for a winter sport you need to complete the clearance “QUICK” form ASAP.  Both forms can be found in the main office.  In order to try out for a winter sport you need to be cleared by November 1st or sooner.  (Sterett 10/13-11/1)

6.     Jostens will be here on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd accepting class ring and graduation orders.  They will be in the hall by the office during lunch through the end of the school day.  Extra packets will be in the office.  (Office 10/15-10/23)

7.     There will be a Girls Lacrosse meeting today (Tuesday) at lunch in room 201 to discuss Trick or Treat in the halls.  (Tatro 10/19-10/20)

8.     ROC Club is hosting a fundraiser at the Andelin Family Farm Thursday, October 22nd from 6-9 pm.  Make sure to mention you’re from Spanish Springs upon entry.  (Biggs 10/19-10/22)

9.     Senior Night for football will take place Friday, October 23rd prior to kickoff, around 6:30 pm.  Staff and students are encouraged to come and support the team for their last regular season home game and recognize the commitment of the senior players on Senior Night.  (Anderson 10/19-10/23)

10.                          Seniors!  Are you interested in attending Sierra Nevada College???  Attend their Open House on Friday, November 6.  For more info see Mrs. Taveira in the Career Center.  (Taveira 10/19-11/3)

11.                          Seniors who need to take High School Proficiency Tests – please check the lists posted outside the library for your testing rooms.  (Office 10/19-10/22)

12.                          Girls Basketball will meet tomorrow (Wed) during lunch in the fitness room.  (Villegas 10/20-10/21)

13.                          There will be an important JAG Career Association meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 21st at lunch in the Career Center. Please come to help finalize plans for Trick or Treat in the Halls.  (Levy 10/20-10/21)

14.                          This Thursday, Oct. 22nd HOSA is having a fundraiser at Yogurt Beach.  Be sure to mention SSHS or come to room 135 for a flyer to show Yogurt Beach when you are there.  (Klonicke 10/20-10/22)

15.                          FCCLA will meet today at lunch in room 107.  We’ll be working on Trick or Treat in the Halls and discussing the Leadership Rally.  (Gach 10/20)

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Daulton O’Connell and Marlin Brucato.  These 2 are the 1st tennis players from Spanish Springs EVER to qualify for the state tournament.  If you see them in the halls or class today, please wish them luck as they head to Vegas tomorrow.  Great job boys!  (Thompson 10/20)

CONGRATULATIONS to the Boys Varsity Cross Country Team for their performance at the Bella Vista Invitational in Folsom last weekend.  They took 4th place out of 23 teams, and were the top finishing team from Nevada.  Come out and support our runners Friday afternoon at Rancho San Rafael as they compete in the league championships.  Boys run at 3:00 and the girls will be at 4:00.  Good luck Cougars!  (Beadell 10/20)
