STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.     FCCLA and Leadership will be hosting a food drive.  Please drop off canned foods in the buckets in rooms 201 and 107.  (Faker 11/2-11/20)

2.     Leadership is seeking boy volleyball players for our annual charity volleyball game against Reed.  Tryouts will be November 15 and 22 from 8-10 am in the big gym.  Stay tuned for other dates for tryouts/practices.  (Faker 11/2-11/15)

3.     Boys wishing to try out for basketball, tryouts will be held tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 14 and Monday Nov. 16.  All boys wishing to tryout must complete the clearance packet prior to tryouts.  Fall sport athletes wishing to tryout must also complete a quick clearance.  See Mrs. Sterett to get cleared.  Please see the signs posted in the gym and boys locker room for tryout times or see Coach Penney.  (Penney 11/2-11/13)


4.     Students, Are you interested in attending the Naval Academy at Annapolis??  We will have a special guest from the Naval Academy in the Career Center on Monday, November 23rd from 1-2:30 to answer all your questions.  See Mrs. Taveira in the College and Career Center to sign up to attend.  (Taveira 11/9-11/23)

5.     Only here this week and next, SSHS Cafeteria is featuring a couple of new sandwiches that are going to get your taste buds ready for Fall.  First up:  The Southern style Chicken Salad Sandwich with diced celery and grapes.  Also, the Turkey Ba-BOOM sandwich:  Sliced turkey with a spicy mayo sauce and pepper jack cheese.  Fuel up with lunch!  (Kitchen 11/9-11/20)

6.     TMCC is offering Community Education Winter Break Camps for teens.  Fliers are in the front office as well as the counseling office.  (Alejos 11/12-11/30)

7.     TMCC is offering a Coaching the Teen Drive Class at Spanish Springs High School on Feb. 3 from 6-8:30 pm for $39.  Fliers are in the front office as well as the counseling office.  (Alejos 11/12-11/13 & 1/11-1/22)

8.     Do you have a library fine?  The library is now accepting canned food in lieu of money to pay off your library fines.  Each can you donate will equal one dollar.  This is a great opportunity to help families in need!  (Lopez 11/12-11/30)

9.     There will be a Boys Lacrosse Meeting in Ms. Beadell’s room, 228, today, Friday, 11/13.  We will be deciding on a logo, motto and going over this winter season.  For more information contact Ms. Beadell, Cooper Venzon or Shaun Dunn.  (Beadell 11/12-11/13)
