1.     Seniors!  Are you interested in attending Sierra Nevada College???  Attend their Open House on Friday, November 6.  For more info see Mrs. Taveira in the Career Center.  (Taveira 10/19-11/3)

2.     Cougars, don’t forget to bring your hygiene items to the helping the homeless box located in the main hall.  (Faker 10/22-11/10)

3.     FCCLA and Leadership will be hosting a food drive.  Please drop off canned foods in the buckets in rooms 201 and 107.  (Faker 11/2-11/20)

4.     Leadership is seeking boy volleyball players for our annual charity volleyball game against Reed.  Tryouts will be November 15 and 22 from 8-10 am in the big gym.  Stay tuned for other dates for tryouts/practices.  (Faker 11/2-11/15)

5.     Boys wishing to try out for basketball, tryouts will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Monday Nov. 16.  All boys wishing to tryout must complete the clearance packet prior to tryouts.  Fall sport athletes wishing to tryout must also complete a quick clearance.  See Mrs. Sterett to get cleared.  Please see the signs posted in the gym and boys locker room for tryout times or see Coach Penney.  (Penney 11/2-11/13)

6.     The SSHS Girls Soccer and Volleyball Teams will be hosting first round NIAA Division 1 North Region Tournament games on Monday, Nov. 2 (Girls Soccer) and Tuesday, Nov. 3 (Volleyball).  Adult Tickets are $10; Student Tickets are $5; Senior Tickets are $3.  The first 100 SSHS Students to the games will receive free entry with their Student ID Card.  Ticket Sales will begin at 4:30 pm for both games.  (A Anderson 11/2-11/3)

CONGRATULATIONS to our Varsity Girls Soccer Team who beat North Valleys 2-0.  Tomorrow, night we play Reed and it will be our Senior Night and will be for 1st place in League.  Let’s all support our Lady Cougars!  (Long 11/2)

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team for winning the High Desert League Championship last week and for qualifying for State at the Regional championships this last weekend!  This is the first time our school has qualified an entire team to the State competition! Top finishers were Andrew Ribeiro making the podium in 7th place and Josh Rodriguez finishing in 12th place.  Congratulations as well to Miss Lauryn Massic for her 7th place finish qualifying for State as an individual and to Alexis Melendrez for her 12th place finish!  Come out to support our team this weekend at Rancho San Rafael.  Lauryn runs at 10:00 and the boys run at 12:45.  (Beadell 11/2)
