1.     Seniors!  Are you interested in attending Sierra Nevada College???  Attend their Open House on Friday, November 6.  For more info see Mrs. Taveira in the Career Center.  (Taveira 10/19-11/3)

2.     Cougars, don’t forget to bring your hygiene items to the helping the homeless box located in the main hall.  (Faker 10/22-11/10)

3.     FCCLA and Leadership will be hosting a food drive.  Please drop off canned foods in the buckets in rooms 201 and 107.  (Faker 11/2-11/20)

4.     Leadership is seeking boy volleyball players for our annual charity volleyball game against Reed.  Tryouts will be November 15 and 22 from 8-10 am in the big gym.  Stay tuned for other dates for tryouts/practices.  (Faker 11/2-11/15)

5.     Boys wishing to try out for basketball, tryouts will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Monday Nov. 16.  All boys wishing to tryout must complete the clearance packet prior to tryouts.  Fall sport athletes wishing to tryout must also complete a quick clearance.  See Mrs. Sterett to get cleared.  Please see the signs posted in the gym and boys locker room for tryout times or see Coach Penney.  (Penney 11/2-11/13)

6.     The SSHS Girls Soccer and Volleyball Teams will be hosting first round NIAA Division 1 North Region Tournament games on Tuesday, Nov. 3 (Volleyball) and Wednesday, Nov. 4 (Girls Soccer).  Adult Tickets are $10; Student Tickets are $5; Senior Tickets are $3.  The first 100 SSHS Students to the games will receive free entry with their Student ID Card.  Ticket Sales will begin at 4:30 pm for both games.  (A Anderson 11/2-11/4)

7.     Last chance formal senior pictures will take place this Thursday and Friday in the cafeteria.  Only seniors who have not been pictured will receive an appointment card today and tomorrow for a designated time slot.  Please plan accordingly.  If you do not take your picture Thursday or Friday and have not been pictured in the studio you will not be in the yearbook this year.  No exceptions.  (Marvin 11/3-11/6)

8.     Seniors interested in going to Truckee Meadows Community College – A representative, Jennifer Zarco, will be on campus Friday, November 6th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Career and Counseling Center.  Please see Jennifer if you have questions about the TMCC application process.  (Hamilton 11/3-11/6)

9.     According to the longitudinal study “Answers in the Toolbox” one of the major contributors to college graduation is years of math completed in High school.  AND…The annual family income of more than 47% of undergraduates is LESS than $40,000 per year.  (L Dreelan 11/3)
