1.     Cougars, don’t forget to bring your hygiene items to the helping the homeless box located in the main hall.  (Faker 10/22-11/10)

2.     FCCLA and Leadership will be hosting a food drive.  Please drop off canned foods in the buckets in rooms 201 and 107.  (Faker 11/2-11/20)

3.     Leadership is seeking boy volleyball players for our annual charity volleyball game against Reed.  Tryouts will be November 15 and 22 from 8-10 am in the big gym.  Stay tuned for other dates for tryouts/practices.  (Faker 11/2-11/15)

4.     Boys wishing to try out for basketball, tryouts will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Monday Nov. 16.  All boys wishing to tryout must complete the clearance packet prior to tryouts.  Fall sport athletes wishing to tryout must also complete a quick clearance.  See Mrs. Sterett to get cleared.  Please see the signs posted in the gym and boys locker room for tryout times or see Coach Penney.  (Penney 11/2-11/13)

5.     Last chance formal senior pictures will take place today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) in the cafeteria.  Only seniors who have not been pictured will receive an appointment card today and tomorrow for a designated time slot.  Please plan accordingly.  If you do not take your picture Thursday or Friday and have not been pictured in the studio you will not be in the yearbook this year.  No exceptions.  (Marvin 11/3-11/6)

6.     Seniors interested in going to Truckee Meadows Community College – A representative, Jennifer Zarco, will be on campus Friday, November 6th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Career and Counseling Center.  Please see Jennifer if you have questions about the TMCC application process.  (Hamilton 11/3-11/6)

7.     There will be a mandatory meeting for anyone planning on wrestling or being a manager this year.  The meeting will be today (Thursday) during lunch in the gym foyer.  (Imelli 11/4-11/5)

8.     Winter Sports Clearance is due this week.  If you are not cleared you cannot tryout for a winter sport.  If you were cleared for a fall sport and want to play a winter sport, you MUST clear by completing a “Quick Form”.  Please come to the main office and see Mrs. Sterett.  (Sterett 11/4-11/6)

9.     Among millennials ages 25-32, median annual earnings for full-time working college-degree holders are $17,500 greater than those with high school diplomas only.  (L Dreelan 11/5)

10.                          Attention all ski racers, the Cougar Ski Team will have an info meeting on Tuesday at lunch in room 122.  Practice starts the 17th, so get clearances done!  See you Tuesday at lunch!  (Weible 11/5-11/9)

11.                          Students:   Are you interested in becoming a Medical Doctor or Dentist?  See Mrs. Taveira in the Career Center for an opportunity to meet with reps from the UNR School of Medicine and UNLV School of Dental Medicine.  (Taveira 11/5-11/10)

CONGRATULATIONS to our Varsity Girls Soccer team for beating Galena 3-1 in the 1st round of the playoffs.  Come out Saturday to North Valleys & support the SSHS girls during their game vs. Manogue at noon.  Way to go, Cougars!  (Long 11/5)
