1.     Senior shirts are on sale in room 115 on Wednesdays at lunch!  Money goes towards senior week so please contribute.  (Calonico 2/12-3/18)

2.     The 3rd Annual Kickball Tournament is back!  Come get your packets in room 201.  Packets are due March 16th.   Come out and play ball!  (Faker 2/19-3/16)

3.     Cougarlicious is tonight, March 4th at 7:00 pm.  Doors open at 6:30.  Tickets will be on sale in main hall during lunch and at the door.  Everyone is welcome.  (Faker 2/23-3/3)

4.     Seniors:  Are you attending UNR next year?  NEVADDAFIT, boot camp for academic success is now taking applications.  This is a 5 day event in late August which will prepare you for college.  For more information, see Mrs. Taveira in the College and Career Center.  (Taveira 2/29-3/10)

5.     Seniors – Short on cash for college??  We have over $33,000 in local scholarships and $13,000 in national scholarships expiring at the end of this month!  See Taveira in the Career Center of follow her on Twitter at sshscareercenter!  (Taveira 3/2-3/18)

6.     The Discovery Museum will be hosting a Teen Science Night on Saturday, March 12th from 7-10 pm.  There will be a live DJ, a photo booth and lots of hands-on science events.  For more info see Mrs. Taveira in the Career Center.  (Taveira 3/2-3/11)

7.     Be sure to vote in the Career Center today, March 4, for next year’s Student Body Officers.  Only Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors can vote.  You can only vote before school, at lunch or after school.  (Faker 3/3-3/4)

8.     Last chance to be a part of Battle of the Bands!  Get & turn in your packets to room 201 ASAP and be ready for tryouts on March 9th at lunch!  (Faker ¾-3/8)

CONGRATULATIONS to our Speech and Debate Team!  Vanessa Ribeiro won 1st in Congressional Debate.  Kasey Rodriguez won 1st in Lincoln Douglas Debate.  Jasmine Castillo and Ashlynn Hurley won 3rd in Public Forum Debate.  SSHS took 2nd place in Lincoln Douglas for the whole season for the Northern Nevada District.  Way to go Cougars!  (Zahrt ¾)
