v  Spook your friends on Halloween!  Come buy a “Spook Gram” starting October 19th through Thursday, October 27th at lunch outside the Counseling Office for $2.00 each.  Spook Grams include a Tootsie Pop and a personal message and will be delivered October 31st.  (L. Dreelan 10/19-10/27)

v Both Boys Soccer & Volleyball will be hosting first round NIAA Region Tournament games next week.  The Athletic Department will pay for the first 50 students with an SSHS School ID to both games.  Boys Soccer plays on Monday 10/31 at 6:00pm and Volleyball plays on Tuesday 11/01 at 6:00pm.  (A. v Seniors!!! Do you need help with the FAFSA application?  The FAFSA is required to be completed in order for you to qualify for financial aid!  See Taveira in the Career Center for more info.  (Taveira 10/24-11/10)

v Seniors!  TMCC will be hosting an application/financial aid workshop on Tuesday, October 25th.  See Taveira in the Career Center to sign up.  (Taveira 10/21-10/24)

v Students! Are you looking for volunteer hours?  Andelin Farms is looking for “scare” actors for their Corn Creepers haunted corn maze in Sparks.  See Taveira in the Career Center for more info.  (Taveira 10/20-10/25)

v Are you looking for a fun way to get some volunteer hours?  Sepulveda Elementary School is recruiting responsible high school students to be volunteers at their Spooktacular even on Tuesday, October 25th.  The event runs from 5:30-7:30pm, but they could use help all day, especially in the later afternoon.  Volunteers are needed to set up/clean up, work with the little kids (such as games and haunted houses) and other duties as the volunteer coordinator needs.  Anyone interested in helping should contact Laura Harper at  (Counseling 10/21-10/25)

v The annual charity volleyball tournament is coming up!  Senior and Junior boys come to Room 201 for sign-ups.  The deadline is October 27th!!  (Faker 10/21-10/27)

v Jostens will be here on Monday October 24th & Tuesday October 25th to accept class ring and graduation orders.  They will be here from 11:00am until the end of school in the Main Hallway.  (Main Office 10/21-10/25)

v Students!  Are you interested in joining the Air Force?  The recruiter will be in front of the College and Career Center on the first Thursday of each month.  Come on by to get all your questions answered.  (Taveira 10/21-10/27)

v  Athletes…..
 If you are interested in trying out for a WINTER SPORT, come to the main office and pick up an Athletic Clearance Packet or a “Quick” form (if already cleared for a fall sport).
You must have your clearance packet or “Quick” form turned in by Monday, November 1st.

v To the Boys Cross Country team for taking first place for the second year in a row at the High Desert League Championship on Friday.  We had 4 runners place in the top 10!  Daniel Horner came in 2nd place, Andrew Ribeiro was 4th, Matt Hakin 5th and Hunter Beadell finished 8th!  Alexis Melendrez came in 3rd place for Varsity Girls!!  Good luck at Regionals on Friday Cougars!  (Beadell 10/24)
