v Both Boys Soccer & Volleyball will be hosting first round NIAA Region Tournament games this week.  The Athletic Department will pay for the first 50 students with an SSHS School ID to both games.  Boys Soccer plays today, Monday 10/31 at 6:00pm and Volleyball plays on Tuesday 11/01 at 6:00pm.  (A. v Seniors!!! Do you need help with the FAFSA application?  The FAFSA is required to be completed in order for you to qualify for financial aid!  See Taveira in the Career Center for more info.  (Taveira 10/24-11/10)

v JAG is selling cell phone accessories, power banks and selfie sticks for $15.  Earbuds and charger cables for $10.  Please see a JAG student or Mr. Merrill or Mrs. Sindar-House in Room 140.  We have completed a pre order so we have some stock to give you your NEW accessory right now!  (Merrill 10/25-11/18)

v Students…This week is Cougars Go To College and Career Week.  Stop by the Career Center and see Taveira if you have questions about anything regarding “Life after High School!”  Be sure to ask your teacher to bring you to Career/College mornings on Thursday and Friday!  (Taveira 10/31-11/2)

v There will be a National Honor Society meeting today at lunch in Room 218!  (B. Kelley 11/1)

v There will be an FCCLA meeting today at lunch in Room 107.  (Gach 11/1)

v Attention all Athletes:  Winter cheer/Stunt team clinics are here!  Join us Wednesday and Thursday this week from 4-6 in the small gym.  You can pick up the registration forms in the office.  We look forward to seeing all of you there!  (Coach Allen 11/1-11/4)

v Winter tryouts: for SSHS Cheer and Stunt Teams will be November 7-9th.  Get your athletic packets turned in prior to the first day of tryouts!  If you’ve already played a Fall Sport, be sure to turn in a Quick athletic form before tryouts.  Tryout flyers are in the office with all the details.  Let’s make this Winter season the best one yet!  (Coach Allen 11/1-11/7)


v To the Boys Cross Country team for bringing home their first Regional Championship title on Friday!  We had 3 of our boys medal with Damiel Horner coming in Third place, Matt Hakin in Fourth and Andrew Ribeiro finishing in Sixth place!  In the girls race Alexis Melendrez also brought home a medal finishing in Fourth place!  Good luck at State Cougars!!!!  (Coach Beadell 11/1)

v To the Spanish Springs Varsity Football team, finishing the regular season as the #3 seed for the Northern Nevada Playoffs!  Spanish Springs will play at Douglas on Friday, November 4th at 7:00PM.  Thank you students and fans for all of your support this season and into the 1st round of the playoffs!  (Coach Borja 11/1)
